Paul was a praying man before he met Jesus on the road to Damascus.
He prayed the scriptures.
He kept the traditions.
"Prayer at 9:00 a.m., I'll be there."
That kind of praying.
Praying that makes one feel holy.
Praying that says to God what we believe He wants to hear.
Praying. Praying. Praying.
Believing in prayer.
Then he had an encounter with Jesus, routine was busted ...
over ... transformed ... forever!
After encounter, his prayers were empowered.
Spiritual revelation overcame
his spiritual blindness,
His lack of understanding, exchanged for wisdom.
He no longer misinterpreted or misrepresented the heart of God.
Saul, the man who wanted the
Christian church aborted, began praying for believers and unbelievers;
"I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened,
so that you will know the hope of His calling, what are
the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,
and what is the surpassing greatness of His power
toward us who believe ..." (Ephesians 1:17-18)
He prayed that we would pray with revelation ...
and power ...
laying aside routine
for relationship.
Saul was a praying man before he met Jesus on the road to Damascus ...
his experience on that road took him down many other roads that he had
never dreamed of traveling, praying and preaching as he went.
Now praying, not out of obligation, but praying prayers that were
on the heart of his God.
I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened ... so that you may know ...
