Verse of the Day
" ... but I give myself to prayer."
It is easy to blame others for where I am at. Easy to say your meanness, your inattentiveness, your lack of concern for me is the reason for my painful life. Your accusations still ring in my ears! My heart has been shattered into a million tiny pieces. If my heart were a shattered mirror would I be able to take the tiny shards of broken glass and piece it together again, would it ever reflect who I really am? Would it ever be safe for my heart?
Yes, I believe so. I believe I have found the key ... this morning!
The Psalmist has felt this same kind of pain. He has been on this hurtful, painful journey and this is what he said, "you have hurt me all over the place in ten millions ways ... God help me endure ... accusers are everywhere ... and their words pierce my heart ... but this is what I do!!! I give myself to prayer!"
Prayer for those who hurt me.
Prayer for restoration and healing of my soul.
Prayer harmonizing with praise to the Lord because He is tender and merciful and kind.
Prayer ... with whispers, shouts, tears, freedom to express deep, deep things in my heart. My heart is safe in the hands of my God. Completely. I can trust Him. He is for my good ... by best ... it brings Him glory!
The whole world may be against me ... but I give myself to prayer!
*I kinda paraphrased the verses in Psalm 109:1-5 NKJV

I can so relate to this post my own sister hurt me with words that broke my heart. Saying I was the most distrustful, disrespectful, dishonoring and disregarding person she ever met and how could she want a sister like me.
ReplyDeleteCan you imagine? it was so hurtful. I am holding her accountable for the wounding of my heart and I have prayed now for a year. Healing might come but she must own her wounding words. I must forgive but I also know I cannot enter into 'that toxic' place again so it must be different and new for us to go forward.I am prayerful. Life is too short for our hearts to be broken by those who should be loving us. I am prayerful for a healing.
