My heart is threatening to break into a million tiny pieces ...
Others flee my pain
it terrifies them
if they resist perhaps they will escape it's grip
You draw near
You take my heart in Your hands
drawing it nearer to You
refusing to let it be destroyed ...
Your patience with my pain strengthens my soul
bringing restoration to that
which others dare not touch
I am not alone
You are with me

Cheri,
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your new blog!!!!! What a blessing to others your words are. And how I know SO MANY, especially me, can relate to hanging on by a thread! Thankfully that thread is super strong! Love Jesus!
The poem you posted is so beautiful. Did you write it? I'd love to have permission to share it, you can let me know.
Love you Cheri! It makes me smile to be able to call you my friend!
Love,
Melissa
Cheri, this is a masterpiece. It speaks so specifically. During my journey this past year with dad and now the struggles with my nephew, I have a friend who one day just wrote me an e-mail basically saying "goodbye". We had been very close. We did a lot together. Many memories. Many laughs. Suddenly she was gone. I honestly believe she was fleeing my pain, just as you wrote. Although the sudden absence of her friendship broke my heart, like the verse that says, "In the year king Uzziah died I saw the Lord", when she pulled away, the Lord drew even closer. Although I still miss her friendship and am sorry for whatever reasons she felt she had to distance herself (I tried many times to talk to her, but she just refused to answer), I have not been alone. The Lord's presence became nearer and dearer.
ReplyDeleteThank you for helping my heart find voice through your writing here.
Love ya,
Joy
